Traditional Village

The beautifully sculptured traditional village, set in lush rolling hills, yet just 12 kms from the known seaside resorts of Hersonissos and Stalis (North East Crete), provides a chance to sample the old Cretan culture in microcosm. Open 16 hours a day, April to October, the village invites visitors on a journey into Crete's rural heartland to take a relaxing break in the serenity of the countryside. There are open-air barbecues to enable you to cook your own lunch. Sit in our green terrace in the shade of the cypress tree and enjoy the quiet beauty of the surrounding nature as a gentle breeze tames the mighty Cretan sun and a lyra plays softly in the background.

Take a stroll around the delightful village paths, through arches strewn with bougainvillea and an enticing aroma of honeysuckle on the air. The folklore art awaits you. It houses pottery, a salon of Byzantine hagiography and a display of hand weaving, while outside a village market offers these and others handicrafts for sale.
